Mode of action of oil mist separation and oil drainage
The special new feature of the IFT filter concept is its use of special fibre media, whereby the mean orientation of the fibre filaments indicates a defined angle to the flow direction of the blow-by. Special drainage elements are integrated into the filter layers, which dissipate the separated oil from the filter medium.
Through the spatial layout of the fibre filaments, the targeted depth filtration which exploits the entire available construction space and the permanent discharge of the separated oil, pore clogging is avoided. The separated oil is discharged from the filter medium before the oil wetting reaches a level which would increase the flow resistance to an unpermitted extent.
The filter medium thus achieves an almost unlimited lifetime, liberated of the oil freight brought into the medium via the blow-by.
